Budejovicko offers year-round activities, from cruises on the Vltava River in the summer to cultural exhibitions and performances during the colder months. In autumn, head to the fishing ponds that are a tradition of the region. In winter, the Advent markets in České Budějovice or the Christmas-lit Hluboká Zoo will appeal to you. Itinerary for a three-day long weekend in Budějovice. Of course, you can combine and supplement the activities as you wish.
Day 1: Hluboká nad Vltavou - fun, nature and history
Morning: Hluboká Sports and Relaxation Area Start the day in Hluboká Sports and Relaxation Area, where the whole family will have fun. Children will enjoy the children's ropes course, trampolines or mini golf, while adults can try out the large rope park or relax in the cocktail bar with its sandy beach. When planning, you should also take into account that you won't want to leave the area. You'll find entertainment for the day, where you can rent a motorboat, for example, and take to the Vltava like true captains themselves.
After Lunch: South Bohemian Zoo Hluboká nad Vltavou Visit the local zoological garden, which offers an extensive selection of animals, a playground and a contact goat enclosure. An ideal place for children to get in touch with the animals and have fun at the same time. We recommend checking the calendar to see if the zoo is running any of their exciting accompanying programs.
Afternoon: Walk around Munický Pond or the Hluboká State Castle At the end of the day, take a walk around Munický Pond. The accessible trail, suitable for smaller children, offers beautiful views and an easy cycling route. The second option is the iconic Hluboká Castle. The castle's architecture and beautiful gardens are a place for relaxation and nice family photos. If you enjoy visiting castles, you will be captivated by the beautiful details of the ornate interiors or the stories of history. See if there are children's tours or head to the castle tower for a nice view. In this case, you'll need to leave early to catch opening times.
Our tip: You can combine your trip to the zoo with just a walk around Munický Pond or not to be transported by boat.
Day 2: České Budějovice - fun in the city and nature
Morning: Forest park Stromovka and park Bosonoha.cz Start the day in Forest Park Stromovka, where children will enjoy nature and climbing frames, while adults will enjoy peace and quiet. Afterwards, visit the Bosonoha.cz park by the Long Bridge, where children can play on the climbing frame and parents can enjoy a coffee in the adjacent café.
After lunch: Historic Centre of České Budějovice Visit Přemysl Otakar II Square and explore the historic centre. Stop at the Black Tower for a spectacular view of the city and surrounding countryside. Children will appreciate the refreshments at the fountain in the summer months. A short walk from the square is the South Bohemia Museum, which is definitely worth a trip. The interactive elements in the permanent exhibition are fun for children and adults alike. After exploring the town, you can relax in the LaShop and create a nice souvenir from ceramics.
Afternoon: Cruise on the Malše and Vltava or the Aquatic Centre Weather permitting, take a boat trip from Sokol Island - regular line, historic cruise, pedal boat or ferry. You can discover the beauty of the Vltava and Malše rivers right in the city centre or take a ride from the Dlouhé Most direction Hluboká nad Vltavou. It's a great way to get to know the city right from the water. If you choose to sail in the direction of Hluboká nad Vltavou, set aside more time; it's definitely worth sailing as far as possible, as the most beautiful nature can be found in the Hluboká nad Vltavou - Purkarec section.
If you're looking for more adrenaline, head (both on foot and by boat on the regular line) to the boating centre in Český Vrbný. Here you can try white water rafting with an experienced instructor.

Day 3: Fun Technology, Týn nad Vltavou surroundings, Safari Resort and Nature Experiences
Morning: Temelín Nuclear Power Plant Visitor Centre Start your third day with a trip to Vysoký Hrádek Castle, located between Hluboká and Týn nad Vltavou. An interesting exhibition about nuclear energy is designed for the little ones. You'll also appreciate the outdoor park with a playground, bird trail or butterfly meadow.
After lunch: Týn nad Vltavou and the interactive museum of ploughing Move to Týn nad Vltavou, where you can visit the underground and the local museum. The exhibition interactively introduces one of the traditional modes of transport on the Vltava River, an experience interesting for all generations. A short walk from the town centre is the Natural History Museum Semenec.
Afternoon: Vrbenské Ponds On the way back, stop at Vrbenské Ponds, where you'll find interactive games for children and a birdwatching station. A walk through this nature reserve is the perfect end to a long weekend, where adult participants can sample beer from one of the local breweries.
Alternative programs can include a trip to Safari Resort near Borovany, where you can meet animals in their natural habitat, go on an off-road ride or enjoy local climbing areas and accompanying programs. Nearby the Safari Resort is Archeoskanzen Trocnov, where you can learn what the medieval village looked like and visit the birthplace of Jan Žižka.
Tips for the end: There are so many children's centres, appropriate restaurants, parks or climbing frames that you're sure to have fun. You don't have to worry about or bad weather, there's always an alternative. The whole area is crisscrossed with bike paths, so if you like this way of travelling, this is the right holiday destination for you.

The romance is enhanced by an evening stroll through the castle garden in Hluboká nad Vltavou or through the centre of České Budějovice, where you can walk through the picturesque square and along the river. Don't forget to visit the very fine theatre scene of the South Bohemian Theatre and the Castle Riding Hall in Hluboká, where the Alš South Bohemian Gallery offers exhibitions of famous artists. After lunch: Excursion to Budweiser Budvar Discover the story of one of the most famous beers in the Czech Republic. A commented tour of the brewery will take you through the entire production process, where the beer is really made and of course includes a tasting.
Afternoon: Relaxation in wellness Book an afternoon in one of the wellness centres in České Budějovice or Hluboká nad Vltavou. Sauna, massages and other wellness treatments will relax you perfectly.
Evening: Dinner and evening cocktail Enjoy a romantic dinner in one of the renowned restaurants. After dinner, head to the Yellow Submarine cocktail bar in České Budějovice, one of the best bars in the Czech Republic.

Afternoon: Boat ride on the Vltava River Rent a boat at the Hluboká complex and sail through the lock. Romantic moments on the water will be unforgettable.

Alternative: Ferrata Hluboká and afternoon coffee If you're feeling adventurous, try Ferrata Hluboká. It's a great experience with beautiful views. If you're looking for a quieter activity, stop for an afternoon coffee at one of the cafes near the river.
Tips for the end: For even more romance, book accommodation with a view of the historic centre of České Budějovice. Don't forget the cultural experiences - Jihoceske divadlo or the summer revolving auditorium in Český Krumlov are ideal for an evening program. If you are tempted by the revolving auditorium, you can also visit it in Týn nad Vltavou. If you are going on a bicycle tour, plan a stop for refreshments at one of the restaurants along the route. South Bohemia is known for its hospitality and homemade specialties.

You can choose from several modes of transport - on foot, by bike, scooter, paddleboard or motor boat. You will also find a car park at one of the ferratas.
Afternoon: Miniature golf, paddleboarding or beach volleyball After an adrenaline-filled morning, relax with a group game of adventure mini golf at the Hluboká Resort. Water lovers can then try paddleboarding on the Vltava River or a relaxing boat cruise. It's the perfect way to enjoy the river and have fun together. Along the river you will find several places to play beach volleyball.
Day 2: Culture, History and Beer Experiences in České Budějovice
Morning: Tour the Historical Centre and the Black Tower Head to České Budějovice and explore the historical centre. The Přemysl Otakar II Square, the arcades, Samson's Fountain and the iconic Black Tower are not to be missed. A climb up the Black Tower will reveal a panoramic view of the city and its surroundings. You can also see the square from above during a guided tour of the town hall and get to know the town itself well thanks to one of the escape games.
After lunch: Excursion to the Budějovický Budvar Brewery Spend the afternoon visiting the Budějovický Budvar Brewery. During the guided tour you will learn all about the production of one of the most famous Czech beers, and of course there is also a tasting directly from the cellar.
Afternoon: Karting, rafting, wakepark or shooting range If you like to race, the karting at Hluboká will offer you speed, the wild water at the Lída Polesná Aquatics Centre in České Budějovice will refresh you, as will the Wakepark ČB. You can experience a bit of unconventional adrenaline at the shooting range. You can choose from several in the area.
Evening: Cocktail experience at Žlutá Ponorka After a day of exploring, treat yourself to an evening at one of the best cocktail bars in the Czech Republic - Žlutá Ponorka. Stylish surroundings, great drinks and a lively atmosphere are perfect for a group get-together.
Day 3: To the beauties of Budweis
Morning: Bike tour of Budějovice Get on your bikes (or rent one) and head out on the popular bike path along the Vltava River. The route from České Budějovice through Hluboká to Týn nad Vltavou will take you through beautiful countryside, along the river and historical monuments. Rest and refreshment stops are a matter of course. An alternative route can be the area around Vrbenské rybníky with an observation tower at the Kněžínek microbrewery.
Afternoon: Tour of the last working mill on the Vltava In Hněvkovice near Týn nad Vltavou you will find the last working mill on the Vltava. Its guided tour is definitely worth it and you will remember the local stories for a long time. So do not hesitate and book a tour for the whole group.
