Zevlův Mlýn with a Microbrewery

Zevl’s Mill with a microbrewery, museum, and exhibition of historical agricultural equipment.

Since June 2017, Nové Hrady has had another spot offering visitors an interesting experience. After five years of extensive renovations, the Zevl Mill was opened to the public. Alongside the structural restoration of the mill buildings and improvements to its immediate surroundings, the milling equipment—dating back to the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries—was restored and made operational. Today, the mill operates exactly as it did over 100 years ago.

The mill is open to the public as part of guided tours. Visitors can admire the ingenuity of the milling technology and the result of the effort, determination, and skill of the current owner, who restored and brought the mill back to life.

The exhibition also includes a freely accessible display of unique agricultural machinery used at the beginning of the 20th century. Children will enjoy seeing some farm animals as well.

The mill grounds also feature a stand offering grilled hot dishes, beer, soft drinks, and draft ice cream. Visitors can now also taste beer from the local microbrewery "Novohradský zevlák."
