Folk Baroque
The Veselská Blata consists of several villages northwest of Veselí nad Lužnicí, which have preserved their original character. Most farm owners maintain their homesteads in their original form.
These villages include Borkovice, Mažice, Zálší, Klečaty, Komárov, Svinky, Vlastiboř, and Záluží. Folk Baroque is the term used for the unique architecture of South Bohemia. A typical structure of this style is a massive rural homestead with two richly decorated gables connected by an arched gate with a small door. The Blata gables are beautifully ornamented.
