Plechý Lookout
Plechý, the highest peak of the Czech part of the Šumava Mountains, located on the Czech-Austrian border above Plešné Lake, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
How to get there
From the Czech side, Plechý can be reached by following the yellow tourist trail from the lake. The best way to get to the lake is via the green trail from Nová Pec near Lipno. Another way to reach the summit is via the red-marked ridge trail from the settlement of Nové Údolí (4 km south of Stožec) through Třístoličník, Trojmezná, and Trojmezí (15 km, approximately a 5-hour hike).

Additional information
The mountain attracts visitors with several interesting features. The most captivating is the glacial Plešné Lake. Above the lake, there is a 14.5-meter-high monument dedicated to the writer and poet Adalbert Stifter. On the southern slope of Plechý, the kar wall of Plešné Lake rises 211 meters high.
