Kvilda Museum
The permanent exhibition on the history of Kvilda and Bučina offers visitors information and artifacts about the challenging way of life and work of our ancestors.
There are few villages as small as Kvilda that can boast a permanent exhibition depicting the history of the community.
The municipal museum collects all information and artifacts related to the way of life and work of the ancestors. The exhibition is divided into several sections characterizing the history of the region. Archival documents are presented as colorful copies (e.g., charters from the 14th century and a map of the Kašperské Hory Golden Path from 1736).
The exhibition is located on the first floor of the municipal office building in Kvilda, the former school. On the staircase, there are clear maps of the stable cadastre, historical photographs, and postcards documenting the wider area.
The exhibits were borrowed from the Kvilda Museum (Gefilder Heimatstube) of the municipal office in Mauth, from nearby Czech museums in Sušice, Kašperské Hory, Vimperk, and Netolice, from state district archives in Prachatice and Klatovy, and from private individuals.
