Brewery Strakonice

Brewery Strakonice

The brewery is located directly opposite Strakonice Castle, home to the newest museum in the Czech Republic, the Museum of the Middle Pootaví.

The beginnings of brewing in Strakonice date back to the 14th century when the local townspeople were granted brewing rights by a charter from Bavor IV. In 1873, construction began on the new Citizen's Steam Brewery on the banks of the Otava River. It remains a dominant feature of the riverbank, and the brewery grounds are used for social events such as brewery fairs. Recently, the brewery underwent extensive modernization and now offers customers innovative products and stylishly designed restaurants.
