Loučovice Bouldering
Loučovice is a paradise for rock climbing enthusiasts.
On the southern slope of Luč Mountain, which rises above Loučovice to an altitude of 933 m, lies an ideal location for the modern adrenaline sport known as bouldering. The countless giant boulders in the surrounding forests offer weeks and weeks of climbing experiences for bouldering lovers.

How to get there
From Vimperk, head towards Strážný, then turn right in Volary towards Nová Pec. Follow the road along the entire Lipno Lake to the dam, cross it, and the first village you reach is Loučovice. (Vimperk – Loučovice 80 km)
From České Budějovice, drive towards Kaplice, then continue towards Dolní Dvořiště, where you turn towards Vyšší Brod. Continue towards Lipno, and the first village you will reach is Loučovice.
Additional information
You don’t need much equipment for bouldering. All you need are special climbing shoes, a soft crash pad, and a chalk bag to reduce hand sweating.

Originally, bouldering was used exclusively as a training method for climbers. In the mid-20th century, John Gill demonstrated that it is more about fun. Unlike rock climbing, bouldering does not use ropes for security. Instead, another person ensures safety by directing the falling climber onto a soft pad. The presence of another person is also crucial in case first aid is needed.
