Jarník Observation Tower

The metal-structured observation tower, located in the middle of the Písecké Mountains, stands about 4 km from the center of Písek. 

From the 35-meter-high viewing platform, you can see South Šumava, the Novohradské Mountains, Kleť, the Písek region, and Brdy. The tower has a total height of 59 meters and was opened to the public in 1997.

How to get there

From Písek, the route to the observation tower is simple and leads across the railway line to the settlement of U Vodáka, where you can park your car. The rest of the journey must be done on foot or by bike, as further entry into the Písecké Mountains is prohibited. From the parking lot, simply follow the blue trail marker.

Is there a commemorative stamp available?

The stamp can be obtained at the Tourist Information Center in Písek.
