Additional information

This rural-style castle in a small village near Tučapy was originally an estate with a fortress. Notable owners included the Olbram family of Brandlín from Štěkře, who transformed the fortress into a Renaissance castle in the early 16th century. Over time, several owners followed, including the Hozlauer family from Hozlau and the Černín family from Chudenice. Later, the fortress was rebuilt into a Baroque castle. In the 18th century, the castle belonged to the Zlatá Koruna Monastery and the Nádherný family of barons, followed by Baroque modifications. The last renovations date back to 1934 and 1958. Today, the castle is gradually being restored and has become accessible to the public after many years.

In the lower part of the castle, there is a tavern where you can relax in a pleasant atmosphere while admiring beautiful vaults and coats of arms of all the former owners.
On the first floor, a knight's hall exhibition is being created, showcasing historical artifacts and their replicas, including a collection of castle clocks.
From the outside, you can see well-preserved Renaissance sgraffito. The uniquely designed eastern facade is also worth a visit.

Brandlín Castle is located in South Bohemia, in the center of the village of Brandlín, approximately 8 km northeast of Soběslav and 8 km northwest of Planá nad Lužnicí. In the same distance, you can also find Červená Lhota Castle. Other nearby attractions include the famous ruins of the twin-castle Choustník (about 5 km away) and Kozí Hrádek Castle (around 10 km away).
