Červený Dvůr Castle Park
A Baroque château with an English park and an educational trail is open year-round, featuring a nature and history-themed educational path. The château itself is not open to the public, as it houses a psychiatric hospital.
The picturesque park covers 105 hectares of landscaped natural scenery and is located within the Blanský Forest Protected Landscape Area. It lies just 8 kilometers northwest of Český Krumlov and can be reached by car via the road to Chvalšiny (ample parking is available in front of the château grounds) or by bus, with only a few minutes' walk from the Chvalšiny/Červený Dvůr bus stop.
Park and Educational Trail
The three-kilometer educational trail through the château park in Červený Dvůr was created in cooperation with the clinic, the National Heritage Institute in České Budějovice, and the Blanský Forest Protected Landscape Area Administration. It was opened in 2005 and introduces visitors to the park's history and development through 14 stations (information panels). The trail is easy to walk and suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
Psychiatric Clinic
Currently, the château houses a psychiatric clinic specializing in the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction. The park, which serves as an essential part of the clinic, has been open to the public year-round since late 2003. By prior arrangement with the clinic's management, it is also possible to visit the château interiors.
