Additional information

The memorial was completed in 1925 and consists of a 16-meter-high structure made of stone blocks. The author is the academic sculptor Emanuel Kodet. The memorial is located between the Markovec, Škaredý, and Prostřední ponds, near the village of Sudoměř and close to the well-known Řežabinec nature reserve.

Approximately 200 meters from the Jan Žižka monument, you will find wooden statues of Hussite warriors. These four sculptures were designed and created by Ivan Šmilauer from a five-meter oak tree that was uprooted during a storm in July 2011. Each warrior has a name – Břeněk, Jan, Mikuláš, and Viktorín. These statues honor the courage and heroism of the Hussite warriors and symbolize the four hundred fighters.
