Krajinská 27 Mini brewery and Restaurant
Restaurant focused on proper Czech cuisine prepared using local ingredients of Novohradský Mountains and Šumava
In 2014, brewing activity was revived. During a visit to the microbrewery, you can taste 5 different beers from the regular menu as well as seasonal specialties. Committed to history and tradition, the microbrewery brews classic beers using old Czech recipes, premium ingredients, without chemical additives, and in a traditional, artisanal way. This means that the beer is made from barley malt, Czech hops, and Czech yeast. These beers are bottom-fermented, matured in open fermentation vats, and then in lager tanks. The beers produced by the microbrewery are not additionally treated, filtered, or pasteurized. This preserves their unique taste and keeps natural substances, B vitamins, and tannins intact. If the tasting wears you out, there is an option for nearby accommodation.
The tradition of brewing with brewing rights at the current location of Minipivovar Krajinská 27 has been documented since 1482. Today, the original cellars house beer tanks. From old České Budějovice market records, we learn that in 1482, the house’s new owner was a maltster and innkeeper named Matěj Svach. Over the following centuries, the house changed owners several times, with multiple generations continuing to brew beer until 1752, when butcher František Haas became the owner.
