Javorník - Klostermann Lookout Tower
Mount Javorník was a favorite spot of writer Karel Klostermann, who loved its then-deep forests and solitude.
The stone lookout tower, built in 1938, offers beautiful views from a height of 32 meters of the Bohemian Forest mountains and the inland. The total height of the tower is 40 meters.
The path to the summit of Javorník passes by the rotunda of Saint Anthony of Padua, built in 1939. The view from the top of the tower includes the Bohemian Forest landscape toward Libín, Boubín, Černé hory, Poledník, Velký Javorník, Svatobor, and Třístoličník. On clear days, you can also see the town of Písek, the ruins of Rábí Castle, the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, and the Brdy Hills.
