IIHF Women’s Ice Hockey World Championship 2025

The Czech Republic will host the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship in April 2025 in the picturesque town of České Budějovice. This prestigious event brings together the best women's teams and players in the world for exciting games, exceptional sportsmanship and an unforgettable atmosphere.

The women's equivalent of the NHL (PWHL) will also be suspended for the tournament, bringing the true elite of the ice hockey world to České Budějovice in South Bohemia.

The ten teams taking part in the tournament are divided into two groups.

GROUP A: the Czech Republic, Canada, the USA, Finland and Switzerland.
GROUP B: Germany, Sweden, Japan, Norway and Hungary.

In the group phase, all teams play against each other in a round-robin tournament. All teams in Group A advance to the quarter-finals, while only the top three teams in Group B progress.
