Rediscovered Kájovsko - Boleticko

Discover the unique Baroque park of Červený Dvůr, the Schwarzenberg Canal Museum, and the pilgrimage site of Kájov.

A leisurely one-day cycling trip exploring both well-known and entirely hidden landmarks in the Kájovsko - Boleticko region. The trip is also an opportunity to discover the landscape once traversed by the historic Linz Trail. The route includes an area that was off-limits to the public for three generations – the former military training area of Boletice. Here, you will find one of the oldest religious monuments in South Bohemia, the originally Romanesque Church of St. Nicholas. Along the way, you may also encounter remnants of Czechoslovak fortifications. If you embark on this trip on the second Sunday of October, you can experience an authentic South Bohemian pilgrimage to the miraculous Virgin Mary of Kájov, one of the oldest Marian pilgrimage sites in Bohemia.
