Route description
The hike starts at the Na Ptáčkovně guesthouse (starting point). From there, a comfortable path ascends into the forests to the U Honzíčka crossroads (1 km). Continuing on the local educational trail, the route reaches Nad Provazci crossroads (1 km), then proceeds 0.5 km to the V Živci lodge.
Following the green-marked local trail, the route leads to Nové sedlo (1 km) and further to Velká Brašna (2.5 km). From there, it is only 1 km to Velký Mehelník, a mysterious forested hill with prehistoric history, picturesque rock formations, and an almost dried-up spring just below the summit.
On the next kilometer, hikers can descend to K Jezírkům, then continue on an unmarked road to the right for about 1.5 km to Dobrá voda, where they can refresh themselves at a reliable spring with drinking water. The same forest road, which is frequently used by the residents of local cottages to collect water, leads back to Písek: first out of the forest, then along its edge past a modern educational area, through Flekačky, and finally to the Na Trubách crossroads.
