Picturesque castles, memorable bridges, amazing views. The first Czech hiking trail to appear on the Leading Quality Trails Best of Europe list runs along the Lužnice River valley past the historic towns of Tábor and Bechyně.

The path around the river and on the slope above the river, often in steep alternation with forest tracks and paths around the cottages. Good footwear is recommended - the path by the river can be muddy. NOT SUITABLE FOR CYCLISTS!

Year-round, the best time to visit is spring and autumn.

ANO- from Plané blue marker, from Sezimovo Ústí red marker, from Vlčí důl yellow marker, from Tábor red marker, from Kolodějí yellow marker, from Semence red marker. The change of the colour of the marking is indicated by a yellow sign.
How do you get to the start
To Plana (take the blue line from the railway station) or to Tabor by train (take the red line from the railway station), you can park your car in Plana at the railway station, in Tabor in the parking house.
How to get back
From Týn by bus to Bechyně, from there by train to Tabor, some buses from Týn go directly to Tabor. Check the connections at www.idos.cz.
Route description
The route is 55 km long and is divided into 4 daily stages. It starts in Plana nad Lužnicí and ends in Týno nad Vltavou after the confluence of the Lužnice and Vltava rivers.
The correct direction will be shown by the trail logo on the signposts and infopanels

Stage 1: Planá nad Lužnicí - Tábor (13 km)
Planá nad Lužnicí (waterfront near the school) - Soukeník - Sezimovo Ústí I - Větrovy - Vlčí důl upper crossroads - Tábor Švehlův most - visit to the town of Tábor and back to Švehlův most
Stage 2: Tábor - Bečice Lužničanka (11.8 km)
Tábor Švehlův most - Lávka u Harrachovka - Matoušovský mlýn - Příběnice - Bejšovcův mlýn
Stage 3: Bečice Lužničanka - Bechyně (15.5 km)
Bejšovcův mlýn - Stádlecký most - Dobronice u Bechyně - Bechyně (under the Duha bridge) - city tour and back
Stage 4: Bechyně - Týn nad Vltavou (16.5 km)
Bechyně (under the Rainbow Bridge) - Bechyně bridge - Smutná bridge - Rosín - Koloděje - Nad Překvapením - U Masák (from there 500 m to the confluence of the Lužnice and Vltava rivers and back) - Semenec - Týn nad Vltavou (at the old bridge)
