Route description
The brochure takes you back to the golden age of Český Krumlov, when the last Rosenberg rulers, brothers Wilhelm and Petr Vok, governed the town. You will need keen observation skills and a curiosity to learn about a time when people became increasingly interested in anatomy, astrology, and alchemy – the human body, the movement of the Earth, the influence of the stars, and the elixir of youth.
First Part – The Old Town
Here, children will learn to recognize elements of Renaissance architecture and become familiar with terms like attic, oriel, lintel, and sgraffito. They will also discover stone mason marks and the history of the last Rosenbergs.
Second Part – Latrán
This section is more focused on stories, legends, and creative tasks, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the historical atmosphere.
The National Heritage Institute in České Budějovice, in cooperation with the Český Krumlov Development Fund and with financial support from the Ministry of Culture, has published this educational brochure.
