Origin of the names
One theory suggests that at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, many locals left for Europe or overseas to find work. Upon their return, they named their newly founded settlements after the cities they had visited on their journeys. Another theory states that the names express gratitude to Western powers for their role in integrating western Vitorazsko into Czechoslovakia.
