Route description
Idina Pila Parking Lot (2 km from Zátoň) – The starting point of the trail is the parking lot near the settlement of Kaplice (approx. 100 spaces, but no designated handicapped spots).
From the parking lot, a narrow road follows the Kaplický Stream, passing under a railway viaduct, leading to the Idina Pila Information Center (about 0.5 km).
Idina Pila Information Center
The center has been renovated and is wheelchair accessible (including toilets).
A modern exhibition about the Boubín Primeval Forest (declared a state nature reserve in 1933) and the entire Boubínsko region.
Hiking Trail
From the information center, a reinforced forest path leads to the Boubín Pond (1.2 km, altitude 920 m), where the first station of the educational trail is located.
The full educational trail is about 4 km long and quite demanding – we recommend completing it with two-person assistance (surface: gravel and asphalt).
**Alternatively, you can choose just a part of the trail (stations 1–5), which is suitable for families with children and wheelchair users.
