Gallery Fara and the Small Museum of Planá
Masaryk, Kafka, Kemr—these figures all visited Planá, and you can learn more about them in the Small Museum of Planá, located in the former parsonage. The most valuable exhibit in the gallery is a massive Bible from 1771, which belongs to the parish library.

Additional information
The gallery and museum are housed in a historic rectory building, newly renovated. Before the gallery's opening, residents of Planá donated and lent many artifacts. The museum was originally founded in the early 19th century by the parish priest Josef Gewinner.
The exhibition includes a collection of paintings and memorabilia of Láďa Touska, displayed by the former mayor of Planá, František Hnojna (born in 1876).
A widow of a well-known businessman—whose family villa was designed by Vlado Milunić, co-author of Prague’s Dancing House—donated various documents dating back to 1910. A painting from 1936 depicts several generations of the Hnojna family.
You can also explore panels dedicated to the famous villas and cottages of Planá, the visit of T. G. Masaryk, or the stay of Franz Kafka in Planá. A beloved exhibit is a pair of actor Josef Kemr’s signature glasses. Kemr, a Planá cottage owner, was well-known for his efforts in preserving local chapels.
