Vitanovy

Today, I’ll take you to Vitanovy Pond, which I discovered during my wanderings around Tchořovice. Let me tell you, friends, Vitanovy Pond is one of the most beautiful ponds I’ve ever come across. You don’t often see as much life at a pond as you do here.

I padded softly along a gentle country path through beautiful nature. I passed pond after pond, walking past small groves. My friend Puňťa watched over me from the sky, and I barked to myself how beautiful Tchořovice was. Every now and then, I dipped my entire self into the water, and every now and then, I listened to the songs of my bird friends that accompanied me along the way.

Step by step, I enjoyed the moment, here and now. There were so few beautiful sunny days this summer that I didn’t make it to the ponds until the end of the holidays. And how much I enjoyed it, I don’t even need to bark about. Each pond I came across had its own magic. But it wasn’t just the ponds and the birdsong that fascinated me about Tchořovice. It was also the brooks and streams whose babbling I enjoyed almost every step of the way.

Lost in my thoughts, enjoying the stunning nature, I padded forward along the country path. I swam in another pond, walked through a small grove, when ahead of me, not too far away, another pond began to appear. A pond with a little island on its surface. I had to explore it.

The moment I spotted the next pond, I kicked into high gear, wagged my tail in farewell to my human companion, and dashed forward, faster than fast, toward a new adventure.

I raced faster than fast through the stunning countryside. I raced so fast that dust rose from my paws. I raced so fast that my ears flapped on my head. I raced so fast that before I knew it, I had reached the dam of Vitanovy Pond.

The moment I found myself on the dam of the pond, I couldn’t stop staring. Flowers bloomed side by side, and the place smelled wonderful. The fragrance of the flowers mixed with the scent of the beautiful water. From the forest behind me came the songs of my bird friends, complemented by the chatter of duck friends, of which there were countless on the small island just a stone’s throw from the dam.

I stood on the dam, my eyes wide with wonder, and enjoyed the moment, here and now. I was in a place more beautiful than beautiful. I was in a place that couldn’t easily be found. I stood there, marveling at the nature, when I noticed just a stone’s throw away from the island inhabited by my duck friends, carp jumping playfully out of the water. Every now and then, a carp leapt out of the water, followed by another. Just a stone’s throw from where the carp were frolicking in the water, coots and grebes floated on the pond’s surface.

I don’t even know how long I stood on the dam of Vitanovy Pond, enjoying the life around me. My fur was still wet from my earlier swim, cooling me pleasantly. My entire self remained there, watching the beautiful scene from the dam, not feeling like going back into the water.

If you follow in my footsteps, dear friends, be sure to stop at Vitanovy Pond. You’ll experience a sight that’s hard to find elsewhere. You’ll find peace and will be able to observe the everyday life of nature. And once you’ve marveled at the beautiful scenery and noticed all my friends, stop for a raspberry lemonade in the nearby village of Tchořovice. As my human companion says, a visit to the local tavern is the cherry on top after a journey through the beautiful countryside.
