Protivín Brewery
The brewery is housed in brick buildings. A plane tree avenue leads to the brewery. The brewery produces a variety of beers and lemonades.
The Protivín Brewery has always been the largest in the Písek region. The first written records of the brewery and beer brewing in Protivín date back to 1540. In 1711, it came into the possession of the Schwarzenberg noble family, where it remained for over two centuries. It was during the Schwarzenberg era that a stunning brewhouse with copper kettles, including a uniquely square-shaped wort pan, was built and is still used today. The brewery's golden age came at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly before World War I, when the Protivín Brewery had warehouses not only across Europe but also in New York. The brewery has always been a pioneer in innovation in its field and still adheres to the principles and traditions of Czech brewing.
