Hluboká Brewery

Hluboká Brewery

A brewery with a long history offers several types of beer and classic dishes that pair perfectly with beer. Tours are available upon prior arrangement.

The history of brewing beer in Hluboká (formerly Frauenberg) can be traced back to the 15th century. The brewery building was constructed in 1898 by Prince Adolf Josef of Schwarzenberg in the heart of the town as a social hall. In 2016, the grandson of the original owner purchased the property with the intention of restoring it to its historical condition and installing modern brewing technology. After a challenging reconstruction involving castle architects and restorers, the Hluboká Brewery was ceremonially opened and blessed by the local priest Father Tomáš in January 2017. The brewing technology, with an annual planned production capacity of 1,000 to 2,000 hectoliters, was supplied by Pacov Engineering. The craft beer is made exclusively from Czech or Bavarian malt and Žatec hops. The beer is bottled in KEG barrels and PET bottles.

Basic beers produced:

  • Rytíř 10° Light Draft
  • Melichar 11° Light Lager
  • Kašpar 12° Semi-Dark Lager
  • Baltazar 13° Dark Specialty Beer
  • Additional seasonal beers are also available. All beers are bottom-fermented.
